The Ford Fiesta has become synonymous with fun, efficiency, and style. For the 2016 model, it may be time to add “safety” to the list. Consider a pre-owned 2016 Ford Fiesta for your next sub-compact economy car.
Standard safety features include an integrated blind-spot mirror, traction and stability control, antilock brakes, and a host of airbags, including a driver knee airbag. With the new and improved SYNC system, high-tech safety features include 911 Assist, which automatically contacts emergency services in the case of a collision.
Upgrade to the SE and you’ll get the Ford MyKey system. If you require a rearview camera with rear parking sensors, consider the Titanium trim.
We’ve all been in a situation when we have to slam on the brakes and metaphorically cross our fingers that the car will stop in time. In an Edmunds brake test, tested Fiestas were able to come to complete stop from 60 mph in 117-122 feet, which is better than most cars in this segment.
The Fiesta did well in government crash testing, receiving four stars for combined overall protection, as well as four stars for frontal protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded this Ford a “Good” rating (the top possible rating) in tests for side impact, roof-strength, and moderate-overlap frontal-offset. It also received a “Good” rating for whiplash protection in the case of a rear impact.
