In a recent Consumer Reports article, the 2016 Ford F-150 was given the prestigious title of Top Pickup Truck of 2016. The article lists the top 10 cars of the year by segment. Winners were chosen based on ratings in safety, performance, owner satisfaction, and reliability.
Safety was based on government and insurance industry crash tests, while owner satisfaction was decided on a subscriber survey of around 230,000 vehicles. Performance was determined by Consumer Reports test drives and reliability was measured based on subscriber reports for 740,000 vehicles.
The review praises the Ford F-150 for its light-weight aluminum body and fuel-efficiency. This truck comes with a 2.7-liter turbo V6 engine and wields a mighty 385 horsepower and375 pound-feet of torque. The spacious cabin is close to silent, thanks to top of the line insulation. Consumers will love the SYNC 3 infotainment system which makes navigation and hands-free voice commands better than ever. Furthermore, the F-150 was an all-star in both government and insurance crash tests.
