Ford has some amazing trim levels, and it’s likely you’re aware that the Limited and Titanium variants of their vehicles are often considered the gold standard. But not everyone has a “fit” for those automobiles in their budget. And that’s ok because with the Big Blue Oval brand, you’re getting a lot for your money, and that’s certainly the case with the 2014 Escape SE.
There’s plenty to love under the hood of this compact crossover. There’s a 1.6L twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine that makes this one a true winner. It creates a total of 173 horses at 5,700 revolutions per minute (RPM) and 184-lb.-ft. torque at 2,500 RPM, meaning you’ll go far on a tank of gas with this one. The auto achieves an EPA-estimated 32 highway / 23 city MPG.
As we mentioned, while this may be the SE trim of the 2014 Ford Escape, there’s simply a lot that’s included for your money. A backup camera is standard, as is driver lumbar support for the sake of your back—because nobody likes stiffness when they get out of the vehicle! Additionally, entertainment is provided in spades here with the inclusion of a six-speaker audio system. Aside from strong audio fidelity, it supports CD/MP3, as well.
