As America’s best-selling pickup, there aren’t many trucks on the market that can compare to the Ford F-150. In the thirteenth generation of production, this brute has been reimagined with upgraded styling and electronic features to make the 21st-century buyer happy.
The 2015 Ford F-150 XLT has been built using lightweight aluminum across the entire body. Shaving off about 700 pounds of excess, it’s much more fuel efficient than previous models. Powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 283 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque, this beast gets 19 mpg combined (17 city/24 highway).
The XLT trim level adds 17-in alloy wheels and a chrome exterior trim for an aggressive look. Heated mirrors and a rear window defroster are beneficial during the icy winter months. The rearview camera allows the driver to see what’s behind the vehicle before backing out. This makes it easier to parallel park.
According to Edmunds, the F-150 is 2 inches wider the 2014 design. This provides much more storage room inside the cabin. A center console and an 8-inch touchscreen monitor featuring the MyFord Touch interface have been included for convenience.
