Good looks and killer performance! That sums up this 2015 Explorer Sport—a fresh new arrival on our lot here at Sound Ford in Seattle. We have a feeling this one won’t last long, and when you look at the facts and figures, it’s easy to understand why.
The 2015 Sport has a distinctive aesthetic that elevates it from the rest of the line. If you’re looking for a crossover that’s a bit more aggressive, this is a fantastic option. The 20-inch rims pop out immediately. That’s machined aluminum, by the way—not steel or any other lesser material or alloy. The traditional chrome in the front is replaced by a gloss black that looks positively fantastic. “Explorer” is also uniquely emblazoned directly across the hood.
While the exterior changes are welcomed, the Edge Sport will make its biggest impact on you once you get behind the wheel. The 3.5L V6 produces a wicked 365 horses and 350-lb.-ft. of torque. While you would think all that power would come at a literal cost, that isn’t the case. The EPA estimates you’ll still easily manage 22 MPG on the highway.
