If you want an efficient car that delivers an exemplary driving performance, then the 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid is the ride for you.
This sedan runs through some serious teamwork. A 118-hp electric motor with a 1.4-kWh lithium ion battery joins with a 141-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to give you the best and most efficient ride possible. Car and Driver says that the first mode can catapult you at speeds as fast as 85 mph, while recharging every time you brake.
So what does all of this mean for your gas bill? You’ll be pleased to hear that the Fusion Hybrid produces a stellar fuel economy of 42 mpg in the city and 43 mpg on the highway, which results in far fewer stops at the pump.
While many eco-friendly cars have a lackluster reputation when it comes to driving performance, this is not the case for the 2017 Fusion. The electric motor produces a healthy dose of torque, so there’s no jerking around when you’re in stop and go traffic. Even when you’ve got the pedal to the metal, acceleration and transition between gas and hybrid modes are silent and seamless.
