How do you take an already stellar product and make it even better? You thoughtfully and diligently iterate on the formula, improving existing aspects and adding fresh features—and that’s exactly what Ford has done with the 2011 Edge SE.
This mid-cycle refresh wows due to a robust redesign. The 2011 Edge offers enhanced styling via a deeper grille, revised fenders, new front bumper, and more expressive headlights that are narrowed and sleeker. The tail lamps are similarly upgraded, and wheels get a boost as a result of an extended range of rim choices (17-inch tires are standard on the SE). Stepping inside, owners will find high-tech capacitive touch controls replacing many of the conventional physical buttons found in the 2010 model, too.
There’s also still a lot to love about this powerplant. Ford’s machine benefits from the output of a magnificent 3.5L V6. The motor boasts 285 HP and 253 lb.-ft. of torque. Further, vehicle operation is simple and comfortable. There’s a familiar, smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission, and the driver’s seat offers lumbar support for longer treks.
