Describing an “extraordinary effort” by Ford to enhance the luxuriousness of its interiors, Autotrader comes away deeply impressed by all the “electronic goodies” present within the 2013 Edge SEL. Nowhere are these bells and whistles better illustrated than with the SYNC technology.
Available on all trim levels, the SYNC communication system spruces up this mid-sized SUV with powerful voice activation features. With but a few words, drivers can smoothly control phone call operation, music selections, and text-to-speech messages. Further, this functionality can be extended to encompass 411 assist, turn-by-turn navigation, and even the latest news stories, stock trajectories, and sports highlights.
The marvels don’t cease there, however. The optional MyFord Touch system decorates either side of the speedometer with a customizable LCD screen. Both these displays promote swift command over audio track choices, Bluetooth, climate control, and navigation elements via the steering wheel. Because the information cluster is configurable, Edge owners may also opt to show trip details, current fuel efficiency, or even a digital tachometer.
Oh, and did we mention MyFord Touch even imbues your vehicle with Wi-Fi Internet access? Mobile hotspot for the win!
