Kim Lewis is the proud owner of a vintage Ford F-150 Ranger. She also happens to work on the hit television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition where she puts her skills as a designer to good use. Not surprisingly, she credits her Ford truck for helping to give legs to her business. Watch the video below to see how she uses her used F-150 to change lives through design.
Kim named her F-150 “Pearl” calling her a rare find. The truck works for her business as well as her day-to-day life. Kim was inspired to get a vintage F-150 after learning to drive in her grandfather’s 1978 Ford Ranger. On the decision to invest in an F-150 for her business she says, “When I go into a space to design something. I’m there to tell a story. So I bought Pearl because this company, this brand, Ford has a story that I can relate to.”
The F-150 is able to haul heavy materials to Kim’s clients like local restaurants. Whether it’s a heavy and cumbersome sign or delicate plants that need plenty of space, Pearl gets the job done and looks good doing it. Most recently, Kim worked with the Ford Dennis Leary Foundation and the Dallas Cowboys to renovate the Dallas Fire Station in an effort to give back to first responders. She put a lot of heart into the project and Pearl the F-150 Ranger was instrumental in getting the job done.
