When we think of hybrid vehicles, we usually imagine a compact economy car which can be disappointing for families wanting to be environmentally friendly. Luckily, the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid can comfortably seat seven passengers, with enough space left over for your other belongings.
The interior of this Nissan is awash with distinctive materials, setting the bar high for competitors. An Edmunds review raves about the touchscreen infotainment system, calling it easy to use.
The 2015 Pathfinder has the ability to tow up to 3,500 pounds, which is pretty impressive for a hybrid. The 2.5-liter gasoline engine combined with the 15kW electric motor produce a total 250 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. The Pathfinder has plenty of pep and can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.2 seconds. Drivers will also be pleased with the combined EPA estimate of 25 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
The second-row seats are shockingly comfortable and are able to slide backward and forwards, as well as recline. The seamless sliding and reclining adds to the car’s superior comfort level, but also allows third-row passengers to enter and exit the car with ease. The back row can also accommodate adults as tall as six feet. The Pathfinder has a respectable 19 cubic feet of cargo space, which expands to a cavernous 79.8 cubic feet when the second and third rows are folded down.
