The all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is officially en route to China, where soon-to-be owners are waiting with anticipation. According to a recent Ford release, the Blue Oval just began processing shipments of the high-performance, off-road pickup - the first noted instance of any U.S.-built F-Series truck being exported to China.
Domestic and international fans of the Raptor will appreciate its strong engine, suspension and chassis, all of which enable it to dominate a wide spectrum of terrain challenges. Watch it in action in the video below:
“Ford is one of America’s top exporters, and F-150 Raptor’s appeal and unmatched off-road performance has earned the truck a loyal following around the globe,” Joe Hinrichs, For'ds president of The Americas, said in a Ford statement. “Export to China enables us to bring a new group of enthusiasts into the Ford family.”
The exported Raptor is a four-door Supercrew model, equipped with updated technologies that will appeal to forward-looking drivers. The F-150 Raptor is also characterized by its military-grade, aluminum-alloy cab, high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine, and Ford-built 10-speed automatic transmission.
“Raptor’s unique looks and capability have generated amazing buzz at every auto show we’ve brought it to around China,” David Schoch, Ford group vice president and president for Ford Asia Pacific, said in the same release. “F-150 Raptor is another example of our commitment to offer a wide range of vehicles for customers in China – everything from SUVs to high-performance cars and trucks.”
