Famous singers, activists and more agree that in many ways, women run the world - so any contender for the Women's World Car of the Year is worth noticing. This year, the Ford Mustang added another accolade to its collection, taking home the aforementioned title for 2016 after besting 294 competitors.
The award was given to the Blue Oval after 17 judges across 14 countries analyzed all of the contenders. The Women's World Car of the Year award is the only vehicle honor globally that is determined by a panel of all-female judges, which makes it a standout trophy. Following the Mustang by a small, one-point margin was yet another Ford vehicle, the critically acclaimed Ford Focus RS.
As stated in a Ford release by Juliet Potter, a Women's World Car of the Year jury member from Australia, “Ford Mustang is surprisingly loved by women who are after a sexy, sporty, masculine car that turns heads. Combining the car’s silver-screen celebrity status with real-life practicality, Mustang screams, ‘I am in control!’ and delivers the same behind the wheel with above-average grip and suspension.”
Female and male drivers alike are sure to enjoy cruising around in the Ford Mustang - find out for yourself at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington today.
