The year is slowly winding toward an end - and across Tacoma critics are already marking their calendars for 2019, circling the third quarter with gleeful intent. The 2020 Explorer is coming, and they can’t wait to experience its custom-tuned capabilities.
According to Motor One, Ford has just unveiled its 2020 Explorer. The platform - which should arrive to Tacoma by late next fall - will deliver robust performance, with a 3.0L V6 engine anticipated. This will allow it generate 400 HP and 400 lb.-ft of torque, and towing ratios are expected to exceed 5,000 pounds. Anchoring the chassis will be an Intelligent AWD, which will smoothly transfer traction between the wheels to ensure stable responses; and a 10-speed automatic transmission will bring electronic precision to every mile. The inclusion of a supplemental turbocharger will further impress, enabling drivers to take full advantage of each rev.
To ensure drivers have the variety they crave, Ford also intends to pair this platform with an optional RWD. This will prove ideal for those craving stable highway experiences, with all power distributed to the rear tires and handling enhanced. This feature will allow for custom rides in Tacoma.
