Prepare, Seattle, for unprecedented speed. Ford is revving up for a track-worthy experience, bringing its 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet to the North American market; and critics are already salivating over the spec sheets.
Let us pass you a handkerchief before you do the same.
According to CNET, the 2018 Cobra Jet will celebrate 50 years of performance. This Mustang variant will make a brief return to the Seattle streets - bolstering every mile with circuit capability. Peek under the hood and discover a potent 5.2L V8, complemented by a Whipple supercharger and a 10-speed automatic transmission. An adjustable coilover suspension promises impeccable cornering, while the all-wheel disc brakes have been fused with ‘low drag’ technology (ensuring more fluid stoppage). A roll cage will further impress, delivering a true track experience.
The 2018 Cobra Jet promises extraordinary power - with an estimated top-speed of more than 150 MPH. This, CNET explains, should translate into a quarter-mile run of less than eight seconds; and that would allow this pony to roar past the competition (the Dodge Demon, for example, requires 9.65 seconds to complete that circuit lap).
