A fast-fingered Motor Trend photographer recently snagged pictures of an unidentified Ford platform - one with no badging, only camouflage. It weaved throughout the Michigan streets, leaving a trail of confusion in its wake. What could it be?
Is it, Seattle, the new Bronco?
According to Motor Trend, Ford’s latest crossover may be the 2020 Bronco (which is said to feature a leaner profile compared to its predecessors). The unique styling of this particular platform lends credence to those rumors - blending an extended C-Pillar construction with a five-lug RWD. The wide front track suggests an all-terrain purpose, while fender flares and wheel arches highlight the elongated body. No official dimensions have been confirmed, but critics estimate that this model measures approximately 98-inches. This would brand it comparable to the current Fiesta.
Could this be the 2020 Bronco? The Motor Trend team believes that’s entirely possible - citing Ford’s reluctance to provide any badging details. Much anticipation surrounds the return of the beloved four-door platform; and the Big Blue Oval won’t want to reveal its design before production is scheduled to begin. It will want to keep the rumored V8 chassis under total secrecy.
