There’s a glint of chrome on the horizon - revving ever-closer, shaking the streets with its promise of power. It casts a monstrous shadow, with its sharp teeth gleaming in the sun; and, throughout Seattle, drivers stand with tip-toed anticipation, trying to catch a peek of this strange (wonderful) beast. What is it? Where does it come from?
Allow the Sound Ford team to provide some much-needed clarity on this pony-car mystery.
According to The Drive, Ford is gearing up for a grand reveal - with a 2018 Mustang Bullitt planned! While no official confirmation has been given, critics are quick to reference a recent Chicago promotion that featured an unnamed fastback. This car (which greatly resembles the original ‘68 GT, delivering both a spoiler delete profile and dark-cast aluminum wheels) shares no badging with the current pony line-up and many have speculated that it will be a limited-edition variant for the new year.
To further bolster this theory, The Drive notes that 2018 will be serve as the 50th anniversary of the original Bullitt - and Ford has a history of celebrating special occasions. The release of a hunter-green pony would, therefore, continue the tradition of memorializing Mustang milestones.
