The awards weren't handed out lightly; nearly thirty members of the Northwest Automotive Press Association at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington, tested the contenders to determine which deserved accolades. In total, 27 crossover and sport utility vehicles participated in the Mudfest in premium compact, family, pickups, premium, compact and extreme capability segments. With its 3.5L V6 engine, 450 horsepower and 8,000-pound towing capacity, it's no surprise that the Raptor performed as well as it did.
“The pickups category was extremely tough this year,” Tuan Huynh, the event chair of the NWAPA Mudfest, Northwest Automotive Press Association, said. “Ford F-150 Raptor won the hearts of our members for its prowess both on-road and off over two days of rigorous testing.” Watch more in the video below!
This win is one of many the Raptor's picked up this year; recently, it was dubbed Pickup Truck of the Year by FOUR WHEELER and Best Pickup for 2017 by Cars.com.
