Four years after the production of the three-door option, Ford presented the much-anticipated five door hatchback Fiesta ST to European consumers this month. And they’re amped up about it!
One might worry that the five-door option isn’t quite as versatile in road handling as the three door, but you’d be mistaken. Much like the three-door, the five-door Ford Fiesta ST can go from zero to 62 miles per hour in just 6.9 seconds. There’s no change in the engine output either, with the five-door boasting 180 horsepower and 177 pounds per foot of torque.
If you’re looking for a sporty drive, then the Fiesta ST will not fail to produce. With an electronic stability control system and torque vectoring control, you’ll be hugging those curves like a shy toddler hugs his momma’s leg.
Ford is certain the five-door will be as successful in Europe as its three-door predecessor. “Ford has now sold more than 38,000 Fiesta STs in Europe since we introduced the acclaimed hot hatchback in 2013,” says Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing, sales and service at Ford of Europe. “and a growing number of customers have been asking for a five-door version. The Fiesta ST with five doors makes an affordable Ford Performance driving experience accessible to an even greater number of customers.”
