This year's recent SEMA show showcased a lot of dream cars, as well as one Nitemare.
The semi-official Ford tuner, Roush, gave show attendees a glimpse into the dark side when it revealed its 2017 F-150Nitmare, complete with a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 for 600 hp, as well as 557 lb-ft of torque. 2017's model carries the torch lit by Roush's exhibited Nitemare at last year's SEMA, which sported a supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 that clocked in a 445 hp and 500 pond-feet of torque. But drivers desiring a vehicle light on its toes (or wheels), have no fear - the 2017 Nitemare has a supercar-esque output and lightweight aluminum construction, giving it the wings it needs to fly across the road. As Viknesh Vijayenthiran reports for FoxNews.com, Roush's tuner claims that the new-gen Nitemare will reach 60 mph from rest in only 4.2 seconds, the "quickest factory street truck in the world." Take an exclusive look at the 2017 Nitemare in the video below:
The aforementioned features are among a slew of others that were introduced at this year's SEMA. The modifications include 20-inch forged wheels made out of performance rubber, a specialty front bumper cover and grille, and a high-flow exhaust system. There are also options for customers who favor two- or four-wheel drive, and even more detailed upgrades - such as a full Fox suspension system and Mickey Thompson tires - to maximize off-roading.
Although details on availability and pricing are to be determined, enthusiasts can drop by Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington to take a spin in any of our F-150s in stock and learn more about what's on the horizon.
