The awards weren't handed out lightly; nearly thirty members of the Northwest Automotive Press Association at Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington, tested the contenders to determine which deserved accolades. With its 3.5L V6 engine, 450 horsepower and 8,000-pound towing capacity, it's no surprise that the Raptor performed as well as it did.
“The pickups category was extremely tough this year,” Tuan Huynh, the event chair of the NWAPA Mudfest, Northwest Automotive Press Association, said. “Ford F-150 Raptor won the hearts of our members for its prowess both on-road and off over two days of rigorous testing.” Watch more in the video below!

Autoblog.com's recent reveal of its "15 New Cars and Trucks That Will Still Be Cool in 2027" list highlights vehicles with what may be described as a "lasting factor" - a vehicle's potential to stay popular amongst car buyers over time. Number nine on the list is the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. Watch it in the video below:
The Raptor's trendiness is inherent to the truck, according to the Autoblog team. The first-generation Raptor provided the foundation for what the second generation takes up a notch. It comes in notably lighter - five hundred pounds lighter, to be specific - which is attributable to its all-aluminum body and bed. The new Raptor also has four-wheel drive and uses Fox Racing Shox, which is a reputable feature for off-roaders; in addition, it has a driver-adjustable Terrain Management System with six settings and a twin-turbocharged, all-aluminum 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
Although the Raptor's predicted to stand the tests of time, now is as good of a time as any to test-drive one at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington. Stop by today!
