For the eighth year running, Ford Motor Company is taking a well-earned spot on Ethisphere's ranking of World's Most Ethical Companies. The list highlights companies that use their influence to promote positive change; Ford's 2017 accolade marks the longest streak for any automaker.
The Blue Oval's position on the list is the product of a steady commitment to ethics, one enforced through various initiatives targeted at safe working conditions and human rights, the Partnership for a Cleaner Environment program, the sourcing of conflict-free minerals and more. Additionally, Ford's team also cultivates long-standing relationships with suppliers, going the extra mile to offer training and evaluations to support adherence to protocol.
“Strong ethics and corporate citizenship are the foundation of our business philosophy, which demonstrates to our customers what we stand for as a company,” Bill Ford, Ford Motor Company's Executive Chairman, said in a statement.
Timothy Erblich, Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer, echoed Ford's sentiments in the same release.
“Companies we’ve honored as World’s Most Ethical take a novel response to the shift in societal expectations, constant redefinition of laws and regulations, and the geo-political climate. We’ve seen how Ford responds to these challenges, while still...embracing ethical strategies across the globe.”

The party's just getting started for the 2017 Ford Fiesta ST. The sleek hatchback recently earned a Kelley Blue Book 2017 5-Year Cost to Own Award for sporty compact cars, which was attributable to features such as its low costs for maintenance and a low Kelley Blue Book® Fair Purchase Price. The title was awarded after KBB assessed factors such as depreciation, state fees and more.
But while its maintenance expenditures and Purchase Price are low, the Fiesta ST also shines with its high EPA rating. With a 26 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined EPA score, the vehicle was predisposed to steal the spotlight for those numbers alone. Additionally, the Fiesta ST's six-speed manual transmission and 1.6-liter, 16-valve turbocharged EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine (with direct injection) propel it towards success.
Given its capacity to excel on the streets, many would argue that KBB's award for the Fiesta ST is one of many that the vehicle will take home this year. Learn more about the Fiesta ST at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington today!
Call it lucky number seven. Out of a vehicle field of that number, the all-new Ford Raptor recently took away the trophy and title of 2017 FOUR WHEELER Pickup Truck of the Year, adding to its growing library of accolades. Prior to that, it also scored Cars.com's Best Pickup Truck of 2017 award.
“The all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor is the truck equivalent of an amusement park thrill ride,” Ken Brubaker, the editor of FOUR WHEELER, said in a statement. “Compared to its predecessor, which also had a very commanding stance, the new Raptor has more ground clearance and a significantly wider track that makes it look incredibly aggressive.” Watch the Raptor prove its worth in the video below:
To come out above the rest, the Raptor had to earn high points in tests that took place over the span of a week. Included in the tests were challenges related to harsh conditions, such as driving over 1,000 off-road miles through rocky roads, sand and snow. Around the Southern California area, the Raptor also took to the track for additional testing, giving a strong performance with best-in-field 0-to-60-mph and quarter-mile times with the help of its high-output EcoBoost® V6.
Compared to its older sibling, the new Raptor has updated performance gains and technology that caught the eyes of FOUR WHEELER judges. In addition to its powerful engine, the truck also has a six-mode Terrain Management System™ and a military-grade, aluminum-alloy body that shaves off a notable 500 pounds of weight compared to the previous model. Raptor die-hards will also appreciate the truck's upgraded FOX Shocks, which enables suspension travel to increase to 13 inches at the front and 13.9 at the rear.
The brand-new Raptor is sure to impress any off-road driver. Take a test-drive at Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington!
They say there's safety in numbers. With the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x2, the number five - which represents the truck's crash star rating - holds especially true. Thanks to the Blue Oval's expert engineering, the F-250 recently earned the notable rating; five stars is the government's highest score possible. The accolade reinforces the F-250's reputation within the Super Duty family as the most capable, smart and tough truck yet.
Not feeling starry-eyed about the F-250 just yet? Consider that the 2017 F-Series Super Duty stands alone as the only heavy-duty pickup truck to claim ownership of the highest safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With its sturdy design, innovative materials and top-of-the-line safety features, the 2017 model also picked up five-star overall vehicle scores in the agency's New Car Assessment Program and for frontal driver crash tests. It also maintained its five-star ratings for both the front and rear. Catch a SEMA preview of the F-250 in the video below:
Contrary to assumption, the Super Duty's superiority against potential road threats isn't due to a weight advantage. In fact, Ford improved the Super Duty's performance by enabling up to 350 pounds of weight savings, thanks to high-strength aluminum alloy that's incorporated in the box and body. The material decreases weight without sacrificing effectiveness; if anything, it improves the truck's protective capacity.
There's no need to 'weight' - come by Sound Ford in Seattle, Washington and take a spin in the Super Duty trucks currently available.
