Many people say we’re living in the golden-age of technological progress, with a shiny future ahead of us. If this is true, then Ford is taking the lead on the voyage to the new world. This couldn’t be more evident than in the announcement that the company will be using 3D-printed brake parts in the Shelby GT500. That’s right: it truly is an exciting time to be alive!
The vehicle will be unveiled in January at the Detroit Auto Show. It comes out of the Advanced Manufacturing Center, where 23 machines are making three-dimensional car components. The goal is to once again revolutionize production — as the brand did one-hundred years ago when they created the moving assembly line.
In the meantime, why not check out the 2019 Ford Mustang GT? Under the hood rests a robust 5.0 liter V8 that cranks out a generous 460 horsepower at 7,000 revs per minute and 420 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm. It’s equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission which allows you to seamlessly shift, while also giving you optimal performance and a stellar fuel economy (estimated by the EPA as 16 in the city and 25 on the highway for a combined 19 mpg).
Bronze is lovely; silver is sleek; but one can't deny that gold steals all attention, earning admiration and envy in equal measures. It comes as no surprise, therefore, that Ford decided to deliver a custom-colored Mustang GT to the auction world.
Get ready, Bellevue, for the 2018 Golden Knight.
According to Motor One, Ford has just unveiled its latest Mustang GT - a golden-striped pony that impresses from every angle. This platform boasts sculpted fenders and a bullet-like nose, with elongated teardrop headlamps emphasizing the lean fascia curves. Custom decals stretch across the side panels, while flashes of bright yellow cut down the hood. The polished aluminum rims feature 10-spoke designs; and a decklid spoiler yields a sporty effect in the rear.
The Golden Knight is a striking ride - and it will soon be placed on the auction block. Motor One explains that Ford is partnering with Barrett-Jackson to raise money for the Autism Foundation, with all proceeds from the event helping to further educational awareness and family support services for those impacted by the condition. The Big Blue Oval hopes to encourage all Mustang fans to participate.

Searching for premium pony power? We suggest visiting the Ford corral - where the 2020 Mustang GT500 has just been spotted.
According to critics, specs for this show-pony have surfaced - and Snoqualmie Mustang fans will soon find themselves introduced to the best in sport coupe performance. A new 5.2L V8 will anchor the chassis, delivering 720 HP (at 7,500 RPMs) and 650 lb.-ft of torque (at 4,500 RPMs). A six-speed manual transmission will impress, yielding impeccable gear control; while its 3.73 final setting will enable smooth accelerations, promoting a faster combustion sequence and less downshifting. Take advantage of a carbon fiber driveline, which promises a lightweight design (thereby reducing engine stress); and utilize the electronic rear differential on every curve, trusting its intuitive locking capabilities to stabilize the suspension and eliminate under-steerage.
The GT500 promises exceptional performance - with critics noting that its top-speed ratio should exceed 190 MPH. This will let it blast past the competition and ensure a first-place finish with every mile.

With the release of the 2018 GT Ford issued a dare to North America - defying drivers to find a more potent powertrain. For months performance metrics were analyzed, compared, and… ultimately found lacking. There was simply no sport coupe that could keep pace with the Mustang.
Is it any surprise, therefore, that Ford decided to answer its own challenge? The Big Blue Oval has (once again) redefined the market, partnering with Hennessey for a supercharged pony experience.
According to Motor Trend, the 2018 Mustang GT has been tailored for the track - with Hennessey pushing its 5.0L V8 to the limit. Working closely with Ford, the aftermarket tuner has fused this platform with a robust new powertrain. A high-flow induction system maximizes intake levels, keeping the engine at optimal temperatures with every rev; while an air-to-water intercooler improves radiator output. Upgraded fuel injectors distribute resources with precision; and Brembo brake calipers allow for smooth stoppage, increasing tread friction on the 20-inch alloy wheels for stronger cornering.
Through these enhancements the 2018 Mustang GT can yield extraordinary performance - generating 808 HP and 677 lb.-ft of torque. Motor Trend notes that this ensures a class-shattering 0 to 60 run of only 3.3 seconds; and a 200 MPH top-speed is assured.
Ford has left its own records in the dust - and we can’t wait to see this limited-edition model on the Renton streets!

True performance extends beyond the engine. This is the philosophy embraced by the 2018 Mustang GT - with its entire chassis tailored for rally thrills. Every line has been meticulously sculpted to deliver an aerodynamic (and immersive) experience to Kirkland drivers; and it comes as no surprise, therefore, that even its cabin yields a track-inspired design.
Slide inside the GT and discover RECARO technology.
As Digital Trends explains, the new Mustang GT boasts RECARO seats. These bucket-style options are engineered to withstand every acceleration - blending proprietary ergonomics with rugged materials. Their shapes are painstakingly contoured, offering high thigh bolsters and inverted sides to cradle the rider. Integrated lumbar support maintains proper spinal alignment, while active headrests lessen the impact of each curve (their velour materials absorb friction and reduce neck strain). Screw-mounted panels and bolt slots seamlessly secure the base, allowing the chairs to remain perfectly situated as speed and trajectories change; and high-quality foam inserts stabilize the cushions in the wake of a .97 G skid-pad ratio.
These seats are intended for aggressive maneuvering - allowing drivers to push the 2018 GT to its limits. No longer will a four-second 0 to 60 rev leave passengers overwhelmed. Instead they’ll remain securely tucked within their RECARO carbon-fiber shells.
