small business commercial fleet vehicles ford seattle tacoma renton waHi Michelle,

I am a Renton bakery owner that specializes in weddings and special events. Being in the thick of my busy season, I realize that I need to upgrade my delivery vehicle to something more robust and better equipped. However, I’m worried that a traditional cargo van will be too large and cumbersome. What other commercial vehicles can you recommend?

For small business owners that need great cargo capacity and nimble on-road manners, there’s no better option than the 2019 Ford Transit Connect XL.

We like to say that this van is right-sized for fleets that travel into the city often and have to deal with tight quarters, curbside parking and underground garages. Measuring only 190 inches in length with an overall height of 72 inches, you’ll be able to venture where larger cargo vans can’t. This model also boasts a tidy 40-foot turning circle, making it very easy to maneuver about. However, despite its compact size, you won’t lose out on cargo capacity. The Transit Connect XL can hold 145.8 cubic feet of haulage and carry a max payload of 1,570 lbs. Plenty for a bakery owner – just like you, Janice!

used ford taurus best price renton tacoma bellevue washingtonHi Michelle,

I’ve narrowed down my wishlist and the 2016 Ford Taurus SEL is at the top. My main concern with this purchase is fuel efficiency – I really want a full-size sedan that’s not going to cause extra pain at the pumps. What engine set-up would you recommend to help keep my monthly gas costs in check?

Sheri, you are in luck! At Sound Ford, we currently have a 2016 Ford Taurus SEL in stock with the optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine. This is a step-up from the standard 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine that delivers 18/27 mpg city/highway, which is still very good – but the EcoBoost certainly does a better job with 20/29 mpg city/highway.

Now, you will lose some power with the 2.0-liter I-4 compared to the V6, but this highly fuel-efficient powerplant is still gutsy enough with 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The EcoBoost engine comes paired to a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with shifter button activation and is only available in front-wheel drive. But, again, if fuel economy is what you are after, this is the better choice.

2019 ford mustang gt dealer seattle tacoma bellevue washingtonHi Michelle,

I love the look of the 2019 Ford Mustang GT. Can you tell me more about its construction and available body styles? I really hope this option comes in a convertible – just in time for summer!

Great question, Matthew! If you’re after a 2019 Mustang GT or GT Premium, you are in luck – this model does come in your desired convertible or as a fastback coupe. This platform is manufactured in Michigan’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant and is constructed out of a rugged unitized welded steel body with an aluminum hood and front fenders. This is the same construction as the EcoBoost, Bullitt and Shelby GT350 models.

It’s also important to note the GT’s chassis and suspension. Up front, a double-ball-joint independent MacPherson strut and tubular stabilizer bar are standard, while the rear gets an integral-link independent configuration with coil springs, solid stabilizer bar and mono-tube dampers. You can also add an optional MagneRide damping system to the front or rear for a more active feel. The GT rolls on upgraded 18-inch wheels, too, which are a step-up from the base level 17s.

new ford fusion dealership seattle tacoma bellevue renton washingtonHey Michelle,

I’m considering a Ford Fusion sedan as my next vehicle, but I’m wondering if I should buy new or preowned. Are there any advantages to the 2019 model – say, any new standard features that I might miss out on if I go for a 2018 model?

Whether new or used, you can’t go wrong with the Ford Fusion. Of course, buying new means that you have a fresh slate to start with; however, you can shave some dollars off the purchase price by going with a
preowned model. For 2019, the Fusion does include new standard equipment, bringing you even more value.

Starting on the exterior, the sedan gets new front and rear styling, including a refreshed grille featuring a five-bar
design finished in chrome on S, SE and SEL models and chrome mesh on the Titanium. The 2019 model also sports a new trunk lid panel, fog lamps and LED taillamps, plus the choice of two new wheel designs and a fresh color palette. The safety features have been bolstered, as well, to include standard Ford Co-Pilot360. This adds driver assist features from the base level up, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert, Lane-Keeping System, a rearview camera and auto high-beam headlamps.

2019 ford f-150 lariat renton seattle tacoma bellevue washingtonHi Michelle,

I see that you have 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat trims in stock with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost option. What’s the hauling power like on this
Will its performance come at the cost of fuel-savings since this powerplant is tuned for efficiency?

Fair question, Marcus! But, rest assured, the Lariat’s 325-hp
2.7-liter offers all the power you need. To understand an engine’s specific output, you can divide its horsepower by its displacement. In this case, with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost’s 120 hp/L, it’s no wonder that this truck is often called “Pocket Hercules.” In fact, it produces more torque (400 lb-ft) than the 2019 Chevy Silverado’s 5.3-liter V8, which is nearly twice the size of the F-150’s engine. Max payload capacity on the Lariat is solid too at 2,470 lbs, while towing capacity rings in at 9,000 lbs. If you go with the 4x2, the F-150 delivers an EPA rating of 22 mpg combined and you only drop one mpg when you opt for the 4x4. The transmission on this truck is a 10-speed SelectShift automatic – as you put the pedal to the metal, it instantly selects the ideal ratio for peak acceleration from your current speed.

Sound like enough grunt to get the job done? To learn more about the 2019 F-150’s capabilities, contact Sound Ford in Renton, Washington.

2019 ford fiesta cold weather package seattle renton tacoma waHi Michelle,

I’m in the market for a compact hatchback and I’m interested in the 2019 Ford Fiesta SE. But, one thing I’ve noticed is that this model doesn’t come with heated seats. I know we are into the warmer months now, but I’m thinking this feature would be good to have come the winter. Is there a way to add this feature?

You are right, Nancy – the Fiesta SE doesn’t come standard with heated seats, but you can add a Cold Weather Package to benefit from this optional comfort feature. This package delivers great value to drivers just like you because it also includes other equipment to help you battle the elements.

Take electronic automatic temperature control, as an example. You just set the temperature you want and enjoy heat (or air conditioning in the summer) as soon as you get into the vehicle without having to touch a button. Heated seats come with the Cold Weather Package too, along with heated
sideview mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators that melt ice and snow. There are also front and rear floor liners to protect your surfaces from salt or wet boots.

The 2019 Fiesta is a great choice, Nancy! To schedule a test drive, visit us at Sound Ford in Renton, Washington.

2019 ford explorer dealer seattle tacoma lynnwood washingtonHi Michelle,

My buddies and I are looking to head out on a road trip this summer and I’m thinking this is a good excuse to upgrade my ride. I’ve read up on Ford’s Hill Descent Control and it sounds like a cool feature. I’m wondering if it’s available on the 2019 Explorer?

Thanks for your question, Jim! Yes, indeed, Hill Descent Control is available on the 2019 Ford Explorer when you choose a model equipped with the Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System, which is designed for seamless confidence on all types of road surfaces.

With Hill Descent Control, you’ll love the Explorer’s ability to tackle steep grades and inclines by maintaining a set and constant speed as you traverse your way down. Instead of having to concentrate on braking or downshifting the transmission, let the system do the work for you – just activate Hill Descent Control by pressing the center button on the Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System and focus on your steering. The feature will maintain a vehicle speed between 2 and 12 mph as you travel down the incline. If you go above 20 mph, the system will stay activated, but the descent speed will reset once you get below 20 mph again.

To learn more about this option, contact Sound Ford in Renton, Washington, for a test drive today.

2019 ford escape for sale renton tacoma seattle washingtonHi Michelle,

After a lot of research, I’ve decided on the 2019 Ford Escape SEL as my next vehicle. Overall, I’m really pleased with its standard features and powertrain options, but I’d like to customize its appearance – to stand out from the crowd, you know? Do any packages come to mind?

You’ve made an excellent choice, Monica, by choosing the 2019 Ford Escape SEL! This trim offers two optional packages that will allow you to personalize your ride.

My first recommendation would be the Sun and Style Package. With this add-on, you’ll upgrade to 18-inch sparkle silver-painted aluminum wheels and a panoramic Vista Roof – both of which really complement the SUV’s exterior.

If you want more pizazz, check out the SEL Sport Appearance Package. This bundle includes 19-inch machined aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets, as well as black front fender vents, beltline
moldings, and headlamp and taillamp bezels. Magnetic-painted sideview mirror caps accentuate the body as well, along with upper grille bars and skid plates. The interior gets an upgrade too with two-tone ActiveX seats, which are extra stylish.

2019 ford edge best price tacoma renton lynnwood washingtonHi Michelle,

I’m looking at getting a 2019 Edge SEL for my family, but I’m wondering if you could tell me more about Ford Co-Pilot360? Specifically, what’s included with it and does it come standard?

Great question, Joanna. Ford Co-Pilot360 is certainly a highlight of the 2019 Ford Edge. This driver-assist suite of five technologies
is designed to keep your family safe from the moment you back out of your driveway. Best of all, they come standard on every trim level of the Edge, including the SEL!

Here’s a rundown of what’s offered:

Rear View Camera with Washer: This feature provides a clear field of vision behind the vehicle and there’s a handy button-activated washer to keep the camera clean.

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert: BLIS warns you when a vehicle is in your blind spot while changing lanes, or approaching from either side while in reverse.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking: This feature automatically applies the brakes to help eliminate or reduce the severity of a frontal collision with a vehicle or pedestrian.

Lane-Keeping System: This system uses steering wheel vibrations to warn you when drifting out of your lane and it can apply steering wheel torque to help direct you back.

Auto High-Beam Headlamps: This feature can help detect vehicles and street lights ahead of you and automatically adjust your low and high beams.

Ford Co-Pilot360's truly is an excellent suite of protective gear. To learn more, schedule a test drive in a new Edge with us at Sound Ford in Renton, Washington.

2019 ford fusion hyrid for sale seattle renton tacoma waDear Michelle,

I started a new job that’ll have me commuting two hours each day, mostly in stop-and-go traffic. I love the look of the 2019 Fusion, but I’m wondering how fuel efficient it is? Am I better off choosing a smaller car?

If you fancy the Fusion’s good looks, Christine, I recommend that you consider the 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium as your commuter. It combines the sleek appearance and dynamic handling of the standard sedan, but with a more efficient powertrain that's good for 42 mpg in combined city/highway driving.

The 2019 Fusion Hybrid is powered by a
2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that comes matched to an electric motor to make 188 total system horsepower. On the road, it handles extremely well by offering sporty agility as it tackles winding roads with confidence. The Fusion’s smooth ride is another benefit – it softens road imperfections, so you never feel jostled, while the regenerative braking system is responsive as it recaptures energy.

The Titanium trim is also equipped with commuter-friendly features, including lane keep assist, a blind spot monitoring system, forward collision warning and pedestrian detection. Anchoring the dash is a SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, which boasts a rearview camera and a 12-speaker audio system.
